Component Updates¶

Matrix RTC – In-App Calls for Experimental Clients¶

Recently, all client apps using the experimental Matrix RTC stack lost the ability to make in-app calls due to the removal of the public RTC instance, which was previously enabled by default.

To restore in-app call functionality and prevent similar disruptions in the future, we now offer the Matrix RTC stack directly on your server. This will enable in-app calls for the following non-production-ready client apps:

• Element Web/Desktop (if any experimental RTC-dependent features are enabled in Labs, such as Video Rooms or Element Call support)
• Element X (under heavy development, unstable, not production-ready)
• SchildiChat Next (fork of Element X)
• Any other app that adds Matrix RTC support in the future

The experimental Matrix RTC stack is available as an optional paid component for +$5/month:

• New customers can order it through the order form
• Existing customers can contact us to have it added

Reminder: The mentioned client apps (or specific features within them) are under active development. They are not production-ready, may crash frequently, contain bugs, and lack key features. Do not rely on them for production usage!
