Stability and Performance Improvements Synapse (Matrix backend) switched from TCP connection to unix sockets in communication with Postgres (database) and Valkey (Redis). While synthetic tests tell of about a 10x improvement in ideal conditions, in reality it works slightly better than before.

During the first phase of rollout, we identified a bug in environments without Valkey (Redis) because our test stand was designed to run all components at once. Unfortunately, a few customers were affected - we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience! The fix was already applied to all affected servers, and to prevent such issues in the future, we added another test stand with a basic set of components only.

Integrated Support System We had “(Existing customers only) Clicking the “Contact support” button in your Synapse Admin dashboard” for a while on the contacts page, but that “Contact support” button was a mere stub that led to… the same contacts page.

Starting from the last version of Synapse Admin, this button actually works and opens the integrated support system directly in your admin dashboard! Please note: you need to have Synapse Admin v0.11.4-etke54 to use it. If your Synapse Admin is older, you can apply the update by triggering the maintenance command in… your Synapse Admin ;)

Cinny In-App Calls Starting from v4.11.1, Cinny supports the experimental Matrix RTC stack. Currently, support is limited to “call rooms,” so there is no proper option to start an occasional call in 1:1 and group rooms yet, but it is a huge step forward for the Matrix ecosystem interoperability!
